So it is a busy week – but nothing new there!
In all honesty even though I’m excited about working on Spark of Defiance, it wasn’t flowing well. Working on edits to the Battle for Europe to get it out to an editor and beta readers did spark my mind though. The language and intensity pulled me in the way that Spark of Defiance wasn’t. So I said heck with it and decided to tackle that too long chapter and plot hole in the Fight for Peace!
I can rationalize that decision too. Right now what needs to happen, the tone of the novels, and the characters are still fresh in my mind. If I waited a month to write that missing chapter… well it would be a lot harder. So I got to work and happily got everything cleaned up! And decided that I needed one other chapter because now I had a lot going on in one battle and only two chapters on the other. Sheesh. But even that one wasn’t too hard to write once I thought about what events were happening.
So, officially, the Fight for Peace is done and all four books in the series are written!
Which is really cool, because Stories from the War is released THIS Friday! I never imagined I’d be releasing book 1 in a 4 book series the same week I finished writing the last book! I’m working on final edits for book 2, giving serious though to its cover (sexy, tense, dystopian, intrigue are the key ideas I’m playing with), and have shipped the Battle of Europe off to readers/editors.
To make this week even more fun, War in the Streets – the fifth short story to Stories from the War, is being released too! I’ve been having fun with the individual short story releases and gotten great responses on them. War in the Streets is actually my favorite of the eleven short stories, so it is really great to send it out into the world!
And now… no excuses. My plate is completely cleared of other writing projects. It is time to get back to Spark of Defiance!
Happy reading and writing everyone!
