Have you ever had a hurdle that for whatever reason kept you from moving forward?
It can be tiny or huge, lack of time or lack of equipment. And if you follow this blog then you know my lack of writing here is pretty indicative that something is going on with my end! And it isn’t bad, just… overwhelming? With lots of learning curves, finding equipment, testing things out, and struggling to find the time to do it all. And man there is a lot to do.
The writing course I taught has just wrapped up. It was awesome! I loved teaching it. I’m inspired to do more. In fact I’ve been taking a mini business course on creating a teaching enterprise. I’ve tested the waters and this is definitely for me. I have cascading ideas of where to go, what to do, how it should look. And just about every one of those projects is big and new. Learning to do them will take time. It pulls me from other things that I’ve been doing, writing to blogging. And they are squeaking forward at the pace of a 3 legged beetle.
Lol. You think I kid? I try not to get frustrated and it takes a lot for me to feel overwhelmed, but looking forward at the mountain I have to climb … well, I think I just sat on my rump and had the breath knocked out of me. But I’m stubborn and I want to do it, so I’m starting by doing something. Like posting here. Because I’m tired of feeling my empty blog breathing in my ear and tickling my neck, knowing I’m neglecting it and you. Though I admit this post is more for me. Just to break that ice that forms when you leave something too long and just picking it up again feels like … a hurdle. I’m all about knocking down the little hurdles that are in my way right now, because THEY are surmountable. It I clean up a few of those, maybe the big ones will feel a little less massive.
So yes, I’m getting back to the blog. You may see different content here. Writing tips to business tips, because if you are a writer who is attempting to sell books, you are running a business. So I hope they help as well. And yeah, you might get a few personal posts as I struggle with developing my writing and teaching. I have big plans for 2016 and they won’t happen if I don’t start climbing that mountain!
What about you? Are you stalled or zooming ahead? What have you done to get yourself back on track? Through me a lifeline, please!
