As I mentioned yesterday, I’ve been absent from this blog mainly because I’ve been building a new one over AmWritingFantasy. BUT that doesn’t mean I didn’t find time to meet and hang out with some great fantasy authors in May as well!
And I want you to meet them (and their awesome books) too!
The first up is Fiona Tarr.
Fiona is an Australian author who writes fantasy with a spiritual leaning. So, if you like my epic fantasy series on elemental magic, you just might love Fiona’s too!
Fiona told me…
For an author, I am not really a massive reader but when I do read, its nearly always fantasy. My favourite author is and always will be David Gemmell. I loved his fast paced plots and deep character development.
I started writing my current series when I moved to Noosa in Queensland Australia. We had taken over a business and it was quiet as we worked to built it up. I had quite a bit of spare time on my hands and had always wanted to write. It just felt like the right time. Having said that, it took me six years to finish and publish my first book. Since then, I have completed four full length fantasy novels and a novella (soon to be released).I take Old Testament stories and flesh them out with fantastical characters and subplots. I really like to focus on spiritual diversity and the turmoil of ancient Israel is such a great back drop for this kind of tension, magic, murder and intrigue.
But first, check out and pick up Fiona’s first book in her Covenant of Grace Series, Destiny of Kings, for FREE!

Destiny of Kings

The King is going slowly mad, bewitched by the dark magic and seductive powers of the Egyptian Princess.
As war breaks out, his trusted General seeks to raise an army and will find a young shepherd boy, bound for greatness.
But when the Priestess and the strange little Holy man share a prophecy the General will be left with a choice; the life of a young boy or his life long friend.
Death is inevitable and when it comes, pain will follow…..
